Breeding quality foundation horses for OVER 30 years

Ledford Quarter Horses was started by Raymond and Margaret Ledford. Marshall and Rhonda have continued the breeding operation. Our horses are used for halter and performance and have taken more than one cowboy to the pay window.

During the 1940s Cowboy P-12 was considered one of the finest horses that ever lived earning him the honor of being the twelfth horse registered by the AQHA.  The Ledford's have been raising quality quarter horses since the 1950s. Pictured is a daughter of Cowboy P-12 and Raymond Ledford.

Pictured is Toots Stevens who was one of the first mares in our breeding program. Toots had a huge impact on our program.  Raymond Ledford thought she was the best mare he ever owned.  She was athletic and good minded.  Toots Stevens always placed at the top of her classes.

Cowboy Double was one of our stallion during the 1970s.  His sire was a grandson of Bar Mount out of a granddaughter of Cowboy P-12.  He produced a number of good colts.  We have several mares that trace back to him in their pedigree.

Bar O Brand was our primary stallion from 1987 until his untimely death in 1992. Pictured here at hunting camp. We used him forHis sire grandson of Sir Chance and his dam was a granddaughter of Cowboy Double and Toots Stevens. We were heart broken when he died.
